| Have you ever been to a fancy restaurant and
had Cherries Jubilee prepared at your table? Let us demystify this
for you and encourage to try this at home for your family or guests.
You will dazzle them. Just don't tell them how really simple it is. |

Scoop 1 cup vanilla ice cream in each bowl and place in freezer until time to serve. (You can even do this before your guests arrive.) When ready to serve, heat cherry pie filling in sauce pan on the range. Transfer to a chafing dish or other attractive heat proof serving dish placed on a platter. Serve each person a bowl of the prepared ice cream and turn down the overhead lights in the dining room. Bring the hot cherries to the table, sprinkle with brandy or orange extract and ignite with a match. Spoon the lighted cherries over each serving of ice cream. The flame will extinguish itself as you pour cherries over the cold ice cream and the alcohol from the brandy or orange extract will dissipate. Enjoy the oohs and awhs of your guests who think you have done something really spectacular! |
